The Joys of Film Making

Last year I entered the apple 24 hour insomnia film festival. It is pretty self explanatory just by the name but the idea is you have 24 hours to make a film and submit it. The nice thing about it is that it is only for students in high school or college, this helps narrow down the playing field. Each team is allowed 5 members. That is the tricky part. I went through six different people who said they could but than realized they couldn't. When it was reaching crunch time and I finally got my team together, apple's site was down and I couldn't register my team. The next day I get an email that says the festival has been canceled until further notice. This was one day before the shoot. I was so bummed. I had everything set up, two of my old mission companions and some other friends from class, I got permission to shoot at the bowling ally and finally got my team together and than they cancel the whole thing. So I decide to do it anyway.

So we go to the bowling ally and it is like happy birthday Saturday bring all your kids to the bowling ally day. The place was packed. It was so hard to shoot in a small area trying not to get all the kids in the background looking at the camera.

Oh and two of the actors didn't show so I played a part and another guy played two parts. It was crazy and the audio was so hard to get because of all the noise in the place. But all in all we had a really fun time and things worked out in the end. The film is coming soon it is called "Defeated Champ"

Nate (my old mission buddy) Playing Ace and his roommate Christian playing Harry. They were both hilarious.
