Girl Scout Cookies

'Tis the season for....Girl Scout Cookies! Growing up, my mother occassionally purchased 'thin mints' from the girls posted outside Safeway, to support the cause. Thin Mints are delicious, but, I hadn't swallowed the hook. A couple of years ago, a friend of mine was selling them and so I picked up the example of my mother and bought some traditional Thin Mints. Well Well Well. There is a whole world out there besides Thin Mints, and it's beginning to be revealed unto me. At work, a co-worker asked if I would buy some from her daughter. Feeling that I was beginning to be included into work's comradeship I agreed. Someone next to me said "Buy the Samoas, there's the best!" I looked down at the paper and he was signed up for 4 boxes. Breaking away from tradition, I put my name down for one. Thursday, my world changed. My mind swirled as I bit into caramel and fudge smothered into coconut in the good old girl scout fashion. After my first cookie, I indeed wished I'd signed up for four boxes. BUT, the story continues....The next day I read about samoa and thin mint, ice creams! I've can't vouch for the Thin Mint ice cream yet, but Samoa didn't let me down. It was a dream come true, tasting just like the cookie in a smooth goodness. Now every corner seems to have sweet innocent girl scouts, selling tempting pernicious cookies. They are going to eat me out of pocket and into my thighs before the season is through. In the words of Jaque "I shall resist!"

My mouth is watering. I have yet to venture into the world of Girl Scout Cookies, and by the sounds of it, maybe that's a good thing. I don't know what I'm missing!
