unexpected family reunion

We had a big treat this thanksgiving. Every one of my family members came together at Rachel's house in Logan to celebrate the thankful and FULL day. Rachel never talked about how cumbersome we were, because we were, but opened her refridgerator doors, bedroom doors, closet doors, and all doors to us.

The first day, Wednesday, was spent with greeting hugs, cooking, and playing outside.

Thursday was spent cooking and eating of course. In our thankful expressions, families was on the top of everyone's list.

Eden had great fun smearing food everywhere and getting different tastes in every bite. So, when do we stop liking our food touching? Eden LOVED her cousins. Well, she wasn't too fond of Elsie since she'd take her toys or walk into her, so, let me clarify. Eden loved her cousins that doted all over her. 7 year old Abram said, "when I grow up I want to have a kid like Eden, as long as she doesn't play with dolls and stuff." And Seth (5) was always pulling faces at her to make her laugh.

Thursday night we poured through the black friday adds, making up our schedules for when to go to which store and prepping ourselves for the early morning. However, as we bid our goodnights, all of us agreed to forgo the 5:00 rush, and get the extra hour of sleep.

Friday started at 6:30 with the Nelson girls hitting the stores! It was mostly fun just being together, sneaking presents for each other into baskets, and trying to find everyone in the crowds. Then a quiet afternoon reading and sleeping. In the evening we decorated the Christmas tree Mike, Rachel, Peter, and Dad cut down from the wild; ate chocolates, and enjoyed Abram's violin music and cabage patch christmas music. The night was just getting started as we played a couple games of Quelf and stayed up late into the next day.

Saturday we packed up, said I love yous, and hit the road. We got back just in time for Micah to start on a group project for school.

It's crazy that we are parents... but I LOVE to see Ethan LOVE his cousins... there just nothing like family and cousins... I bet Eden loved hanging out with all her cousins... John still won't budge on the kitchen thing, unless i find a super cheap one on craigslist...

What a great recap! Also, you failed to mention Abram's stipulation about wanting a daughter just like Eden. He's such a boy. And I love the picture of Eden reaching toward the Christmas tree. So cute!
