Micah and I made a real honest to goodness cheesecake, swirled in chocolate. Amazing how the kitchen can be fun with company!
Eden and I painted our toenails together. Yes, this daughter of mine is going to completely feminize me someday. She loved it and kept saying "polish?" and "more?" As soon as I painted it on, her little fingers wiped it right off, but I think you could actually tell they are painted still.
I worked on Sunday, and my day was full of grumpy patients and less ambitious assistance. It was kind of tiring. I came home late but to a welcomed surprise. Micah had set up a table on the deck with my favorite red checkered table cloth with yummy food. He even somehow managed to keep Eden out of the food and strawberries.
We got a sitter for Eden and went out to the movies. We watched Star Trek. Pretty much it was amazing. It was nice to dress up, meander with Micah, enjoy a phenomenal movie, and admire my husband.
Over the last three nights we watched Sister Act, I love that movie!
Saturday was a perfect day because we had nowhere we needed to be on our docket, don't know when the last time that was! We ended up going to Maceys where some veterans had conglomerated and we celebrated Armed Forces Day with them. I especially enjoyed talking with the nurse. She didn't have much training, and I just thought about how intimidating it would be. Certainly, war is beyond intimidating, her situation just hit home with me a little more. We gave her a thank you card and Eden drew her a colored page. Then we played kickball in our courtyard with our neighbor friend and kids. Funny, but that was probably my favorite part of the week.

And lastly and totally unrelated to anything. My dad showed me this, and I thought it was absolutely hilarious, so for your viewing pleasure, follow this link if you'd like....

Becky, I loved reading your post. (And thanks for the video clip that was hilarious!) Tom and I watched Star Trek and loved it as well. I have watched so few movies I continue to be amazed at the effects they are able to achieve now-a-days. Eden is such a doll, I loved the image of you and her painting your nails together. Miss you-
Hurray for fun weeks! Do you remember that "kid" nail polish that Mom used to get us? It peeled off after it was dry. I just remember having too much fun peeling it off, thus leaving a trail of nail polish shavings around the house. And wasn't Star Trek great?! Did Micah like it, too? I always love to hear your guys' opinions on movies.
I agree with Kjirsti...I love the visual of you and Eden painting toenails together . . . and you admiring Micah. A happy memorial day to you.
How fun that you and Eden did pedicures together! :) You are such a cute mommy!
