novelties worn out

You can tell what a person is made up of when the polish has worn off their shoes. Do they return them for new ones? Or do they use them until their socks shine through?
Eden has shown the capability for use for the bathroom for many moons. And so, for many moons, we've coaxed and encouraged and praised any incline she's had towards the toilet. It started of course with a little potty. How fun was that, a mini-grown up experience! It lasted about a day. Then came the Elmo panties. Oh boy did she want to wear those, for about a day. Maybe she likes the child sized adaptable toilet seat better. Did she ever! For a day. Dora panties, a day. Reese pieces, a day. Phone calls, a day. Yesterday it was a 'big treat' (animal cookies) if she went poop in the potty. Hooray! And as anticipated....We'll see in a few more months, where she stands, or sits.

So both shoe wearers, I've decided, have great personalities-head strong and decisive. It's just where they put their energy that it counts. I think it takes as much work to kick against the pricks, as it does to put your shoulder to the wheel.

You've made my day with this post!
Eventually, she'll decide that babies wear diapers and that will be that!

The comfort is knowing that 99.9% of children do not go to school in diapers....so relax! Thanks for the blog...I agree, except I think it is actually harder work to keep up the kicking!! Love and hugs!
