If I had to pick a favorite month, it would be December or July. But since it's presently July, I've gotta say it's tops! How can you go wrong with BBQ's, family reunions, dripping fresh watermellon and peaches, parades, neighbors outside chilling together, no school, celebrating freedom, and ice cream in all its creamy chill fashions-cones, shakes, sundaes....
Provo goes all out celebrating our independence. They call it 'freedom days' and it lasts for two months. The last week they go out with a bang! I'd never been to a parade that had those ginormous balloons before, so that was memorable for me. Down town there were giant blow up sets to jump on, a dozen kid crafts, face painting, performers, vendors, reenacted sets of colonial days (even though they were all texting on their cells phones), military men...But my favorite was the hot air balloon festival. And of course we did our own amazing fireworks show-pops and sparklers!
Last week was our Nelson family reunion at my Uncle Karl's cattle ranch near Idaho Falls. Sadly, we don't have any pictures because we had too much fun with the video camera. So I'm counting on my family to produce and post so I can steal!!! cha cha cha guys. I won't bore everyone with my thrills and being with my family; except to say they are the best. They are the most fun people: who else can make glow sticks entertain for hours and marshmellow guns so provoking while sitting only few feet away from each other. Eden continues to asks for her Chase and Poppy.
Last weekend our primary had an activity. A very simple pioneer reenactment starting in Navoo and ending in Salt Lake. I pretended to be Agnes Hogan, my 3x-great grandmother. It was a great experience for me to learn about her, and then share it in such a personal manner. They traveled from Scotland, and her husband's (Walter) life ended in Salt Lake as he was quarring rock for the temple. What a heritage! On a lighter note, there's a gal in our ward who has a little cake business, her blog is linked on mine as "crystals custom cakes". Anyways, she has amazing talent at amazing prices. She made this for our activity, it was amazing. Eden has turned 18 months, so she was able to go to the activity too! Her 1st week of nursery at church went great. She's been such a trooper as we've run her ragged.

Ahhh! I miss you guys. Eden is growing into such a little girl. She's got more hair! Love ya!
I agree, July is a fun month. I love that last picture of Eden. That is what a tired little girl looks like! I need to hear how the rest of the primary activity went as well. (I'd like to hear the story you told.)
Ahhhhh, I love it when you post. Just so you know, Eden's Popey is really missing her as well. Congrats on your program. I am absolutely certain you organized it to perfection!!!! I don't think I ever saw Eden moving that still at the reunion!!!
You have had a busy July! I wish I could have been at your primary activity. It sounds like it was a success. I can't wait to come to Provo, and yes, I'll get on those pictures.
I love the hot air balloon pic. It was seriously so fun watching Eden tonight, I don't know why you considered it a favor! :) Thanks for asking us to do it!
I love your opening about whether July or December was your favorite and then you listed all the great things about July. You make July sound like a no contest winner and I love everything you listed about it, too.
That cake is incredible! My goodness.
Fun post and fun summer times! I can't believe Eden is in nursery. Glad to hear it's going so well. And I agree, that cake is AMAZING!
What a fun time!! Thank you for posting as I check it very often. Eden is turning into a little girl instead of the baby we left a year ago! Give her lots of hugs from us!!
Glad things are going well. You three are the best!! Much love!
It was good to see little Eden. I can't believe how long it's been. It looks like you are doing great!
